The Moorpark College Art Gallery is pleased to present a solo exhibition by artist Abel Alejandre. Known as a master of line, Alejandre creates portraits with graphite and mixed media using hatching and cross-hatching techniques that are beyond compare. For this exhibition, The Chicano Experiment, Alejandre pulls from his experience as an immigrant from Mexico, to explore ideas of identity, masculinity, and codes of conduct.
Abel Alejandre received an AA from Long Beach City College, and is largely self-taught. Alejandre has exhibited his work extensively throughout Southern California, and is represented by Coagula Curatorial in Los Angeles. In addition to his artwork, he is the Executive Producer of Modern Art Blitz, and the Creative Director at Seismicmark Inc.
