New to the Los Angeles cityscape Vicente Peris has brought a new aesthetic perspective to our city. His work created on site is vastly removed from his previous aesthetic queries in which he delved into illuminated shadows created in motion. Conceptually similar to Yves Klein’s blue women, yet articulated in a way to allow the use of gunpowder.

From deep within his fascination with shadows emerged a playful yet thoughtful concern to allow the viewer to experience art from within. Thus his series of Calderesque like mobiles allows the viewer to inhabit the work and move from within the aesthetic query to engage playfully.

His new body of work takes a similar perspective while questioning the City of Angeles. From his studio, Peris observes everyday life, the people-scape of downtown fascinates and informs his current aesthetic questions.
