WHAT: A night of digital art programming featuring original and curated art content themed around surrealism, will be displayed on the SVLA1 LED Screen on the Façade of the Courtyard Marriott L.A. Live during the hosted reception. Artist meet and greet included.
SV Presents: We are excited to announce new work by Milan del Vecchio, the latest artist to participate in our bi-monthly commissioned SV Presents series. Based in Los Angeles, Milan’s skill set spans a range of creative disciplines such as costume design, storyboarding, traditional painting, and album art, and is highly influenced by the diversity of experiences gained from her world travels. Her SVP piece, BB L’Orange, is an inter-dimensional dreamscape lush with whimsical oddities and nonsensical play. From one portal to the next, variations of floating figures and talking heads exchange banter, or jabber in unison, perhaps questioning the very senselessness they have been subjected to. Milan’s short film will play at the top of every hour through January 8, 2018.
SV Showcase: This month, StandardVision has invited LA/NY-based Superchief Gallery to curate a series of artists who take the objects of our dreams and create compositions that are outside the scope of formal organization. Featuring works by Ondrej Zunka, Ian Valentine, El Popo Sangre and User Deleted, these artists combine unexpected juxtaposition, non-sequitur, and elements of surprise to create an Absolute Reality. The showcase will be on view through January 8, 2018, playing every 15 minutes from 9pm-12am Thursday-Sunday.
Artist Takeover: Los Angeles-based photographer, Pat Martin (@patmartin__) will be taking over the screen in a two week long recurring spot as part of SV’s Artist Takeover Series. Pat’s images capture deeply personal and introspective moments among his family and daily life, creating intimate windows that peer into an ethereal reality. You can see Pat’s work November 6 – November 19 at the top of every hour.
