Karin Apollinia Muller: Far Out
at Diane Rosenstein
Fine Art
The natural world, specifically the universe, are living, thriving utopias of abstraction, light and color, and Karin Apollonia Muller has, in her first exhibition at Diane Rosenstein Fine Art, captured both the raw beauty and striking complexity of the physical universe. Drawing on images from NASA, Muller expands her photographic eye to include the telescope as a more refined and highly tuned instrument of documentation, yet the artist’s “statistics” are visually nuanced shapes and forms that appear more painterly than they do scientific. As with other bodies of work, Muller has again succeeded in poeticizing the known world until it appears nearly foreign, mysterious and luminously alive.
