All good homes should contain great art, or at least that is what David Stone, owner and director of Another Year in LA, would have us believe. The gallery is a home and the home is a gallery and Jerrin Wagstaff’s elegantly engaging paintings of mostly abstracted elements, certainly “drives this point home” in a manner of speaking. Rife with titles that suggest some strange discordant utopian ennui like Id’s Carpet Barn (2014) or Yacht Rock (2015) these images encapsulate moments of mechanizations gone wrong like when your vacuum cleaner turns on you for absolutely no reason.
