The evening will feature a showing of the 20th anniversary remastered edition of Visual Futurist: The Art & Life of Syd Mead. You’ll also have the opportunity to hear from Syd’s partner Roger Servick, the film’s director Joaquin Montalvan and ArtCenter Emeritus Chair Stewart Reed.

The work of ArtCenter alum Syd Mead (BS 1959) has influenced science fiction, transportation design and cinematic world-building for generations. From the neon streetscapes of Blade Runner to the wild vehicles and environments of Tron and Aliens, Mead’s designs continue to be a powerful inspiration for artists conjuring visions of the future and for creatives who want to make their own mark across industry and entertainment.
