In conjunction with Lucas Blalock: An Enormous Oar, art historian and writer Daniel Spaulding will discuss the relationship between the visual art of Lucas Blalock and Bertolt Brecht’s critical writings. Selections from Brecht on Theatre: The Development of an Aesthetic—a pivotal text for Blalock—will provide the foundation for Spaulding’s discussion.
