The Silence Between Lines: A Journey Completed – A Live Art event by Hedy Torres

Join the City of West Hollywood for an engaging live art event with artist Hedy Torres. Torres will return to a set of charcoal portraits she created of DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) recipients and complete one of these drawings live—a portrait of participant Lino Perez, who recently received his Green Card. The artwork, first begun during a period of uncertainty, now reaches a new chapter as Torres revisits and finishes the piece nearly a decade later.
During this event, Torres will invite the public to gather, listen, and ask questions as Lino shares his migration story and the emotional realities of navigating legal limbo; the performance artwork and conversation will be captured by a videographer.
Hedy Torres is a Mexican-born, Los Angeles–based artist whose work highlights the lived experiences of immigrants and the beauty found in everyday labor and resilience. She holds an MA in Painting and Drawing from California State University, Northridge.
