The Library at Marciano Art Foundation presents a conversation between film critic A.S. Hamrah and writer and curator Carlos Valladares on the occasion of Hamrah’s two recent books, “Last Week in End Times Cinema” (Semiotext(e), 2025) and “Algorithm of the Night” (n+1, 2025). The discussion will explore Hamrah’s incisive writing on film and culture, spanning weekly dispatches from a year in Hollywood to essays and reviews reflecting on cinema during the Trump and Covid years. Limited copies of both books will be available for purchase courtesy of Book Soup.
Note: Upstairs galleries will be closed during the event. “BRUCE CONNER / RECORDING ANGEL” will remain on view in the Theater Gallery until 6:50PM for visitors arriving early.
