The Analysand as Artist

The project of the sovereign artist is at one with the project of psychoanalysis: to bring the intension of psychic reality as spirit into the outer world of symbolic social reality by means of extension. An analysand is not a patient but a true creator: an artist who authorizes himself by himself.
LIBERTINE operates in the original form of the guild, but by means of a unique analytic practice it incorporates and rotates the four discourses or positions of artist, critic, gallerist, and collector into its process, thus transcending the degenerated form of the current postmodern condition of the “art world.” It resolves the current “symptom of art” by means of the “art of the symptom.”

Is it possible to survive the deconstruction of the meta-language of the critic, the gallery, the collector. For the singularity of the artist and its object-language to live. A trace of the context remains. A remainder. A frame – in the form of a panel from which to hang. And later a series of jokes. Text paintings where a psychoanalytic art of war has been learned so that the shield of armor can be replaced by a sword – in the form of a wooden stick – in which only the attackers own force is used against it.
