Join us in celebrating the launch of Talking to Action: Art, Pedagogy, and Activism in the Americas, the first bilingual publication to bring together scholarship, critical essays, and documentation of collaborative community-based art making by researchers and artists from across the American hemisphere. Produced as part of the Getty-led initiative, Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA, the volume is a compendium of texts, analysis, and documents from the research and exhibition platforms of Talking to Action, on view at the Ben Maltz Gallery through December 10, 2017. Curator and lead researcher of Talking to Action Bill Kelley, Jr. is joined by theorist and contributing author Grant Kester in a conversation moderated by artist and Otis College Associate Professor Kade L. Twist. Copies of the book will be available for purchase. Q+A to follow.
