Make Room is proud to present Strange Tales by Yongqi Tang and Almost There by Paul Robas, two solo exhibitions exploring myth, memory, and the emotional terrain of human experience. Drawing from Chinese folklore and cross-cultural allegory, Tang reinterprets traditional narratives through a contemporary lens, examining identity, femininity, and displacement. Robas’s paintings embrace quiet, suspended moments—fragmented portraits and still lifes that reflect on temporality, longing, and the fragility of memory. Together, the exhibitions present distinct yet resonant practices that bridge personal narrative and universal themes through painterly storytelling.
