The Residency Project (TRP) is seeking submissions of short film/video projects by Southern California-based artists/filmmakers for a screening event in Pasadena on Saturday, August 19, 2023. Selected artists will be paid $100 each for their participation in the screening as recommended by Working Artists in the Greater Economy (W.A.G.E.) and an additional $50 for their in-person attendance of the screening event.

Eligibility Criteria:
-Artist/Filmmaker must be 18+ years old and based in Southern California
-This call is open to narrative, non-narrative, experimental, documentary-style, animation, experimental animation projects completed within the past 5 years
-The work’s total runtime cannot exceed 30 minutes
-The work should already exist in a digital format playable in a cue-based, multimedia playback software (.mp4 and .mov preferred).
-Artist/Filmmaker must be able to commit to attending the in-person screening event on the evening of 8/19/2023, where they will give a brief introduction of their featured work
-Artist/Filmmaker must be open to screening their work in a non-traditional/ad hoc/salon-style environment. TRP is an artist residency and project space based in an intimate home environment in a residential neighborhood. Depending on the weather, curatorial vision, and expected audience size, the screening may take place inside the residency house or outside in the backyard/garden.
Submission Guidelines:
-Work samples or trailers should be no more than 3 minutes long
-Full work cannot exceed a total runtime of 30 minutes
-Submission fee: $5 per submission
-Limit of 5 submissions per artist/filmmaker
-Include title, date, and contextual description for each submission + your CV and link to your artist website/IMDB
-Deadline to apply: May 30, 2023
-Notification of decision by: June 30, 2023
