Sight Unseen: International Photography by Blind Artists presents work by the world’s most accomplished blind photographers as they explore ideas about the nature of seeing. Most artists in the exhibition are completely blind; some are legally blind, but all perceive an image of the physical world in varying degrees. With photography as their medium, each artist brings their inner visions into the seeing world, revealing a rich visual and emotionally complex blend of physical and conceptual artworks.
Sight Unseen: International Photography by Blind Artists has been curated by Douglas McColloh and originated by UCR/California Museum of Photography, an affiliate institution of ARTSblock, the University of California, Riverside, and toured by Curatorial Assistance Traveling Exhibitions, Pasadena, California.
