LEVEL GROUND, a nonprofit arts collective of underrepresented artists, is proud to join Angeles Psychology Group to present new work from seven Level Ground alumni artists during a group show called SELF–CENTER. More information here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/selfcenter-gallery-show-tickets-61031448706
Taking place during Mental Health Awareness Month, the show makes explicit the exploration of self that so often underscores art-making. The artists use their bodies, interventions into their own creative processes, and contemplations of internal worlds and external factors to investigate the theme.
The one-night gallery show will take place at Evidence Film Studios in Echo Park and include a bar, live performances, and a curated dialogue with some of the artists. Level Ground’s current resident artists will also present works-in-progress in anticipation of their solo exhibits during Level Ground’s 2019 Festival this fall.
Participating artists include:
Chase Joynt
Leslie Foster
Mac Shannon
Mario Nava
Rae Threat
Rebekah Mei
Ruthintruth
And the 2019 Level Ground resident artists: Evelyn Quijas, Gazelle Samizay, and Tristan Espinoza.
