Join us in the Gallery at Angels Gate Cultural Center (AGCC) for an Artist Talk and Gallery Walkthrough with RED EARTH GAZE curator Gloria Gem Sánchez and artists Jesús Jesse Gutiérrez, Laurie Steelink, and Mer Young. The artists will discuss their work and practice in relation to the show’s themes of contemporary Indigenous narratives and notions of past, present, and future. The public will have the opportunity to see the work in-person and ask questions in this facilitated conversation.

About RED EARTH GAZE:
Curated by Gloria Gem Sánchez, RED EARTH GAZE centers Contemporary Native visual narratives reflective of each artist’s life perspective. Together in unison, these works coalesce notions from the past and present as we consciously emerge into the future, celebrating the expansive hopes and dreams of Native peoples as multidimensional beings.
This event takes place during AGCC’s Open Studios Day, a semiannual event that gives the public a glimpse into the process, art, and lives of local artists who create at Angels Gate Cultural Center. Open Studios Day is a self-guided tour of artist studios providing a unique opportunity to interact with the artists and purchase contemporary works of art. The event includes onsite performances, demonstrations, and workshops by our community classes and Family Art Workshop programs.
