PXL THIS attracts films from “both teens and seminal experimental filmmakers; both pros and the houseless,”
PXL THIS Founder Gerry Fialka said. “I’d call it the most populist film festival ever. At age 35, we host one of the oddest, oldest film festivals here in L.A., earth’s entertainment epicenter.”

PXL-2000, a Reagan-era kid’s toy video camera from Fisher-Price, bought out by Mattel (home of Barbie, full circle!):
So cheap, a kid could get it for Christmas. So cheap it records on standard audio tape. So cheap, kids hated it. So cheap, artists could afford to experiment. Dumpster divers, thrift-store addicts, and film-school dropouts, and auteur wannabees loved it to pieces for ages.
