FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
A.I. Generated Portrait Exhibition ‘Prospex Park: Frontier Drops’ June 8th in LA’s 3110 Gallery
3110 Gallery, 3110 W Sunset Blvd Los Angeles CA 90026
June 8th 2024 2pm-8pm
Pioneering artist Prospex Park, known for his innovative approach to storytelling through AI generative portraiture, is set to unveil his debut exhibition, ‘Frontier Drops’. This pop-up showcase promises to transport visitors to a reimagined version of the American frontier, offering a fresh perspective on familiar cowboy aesthetics.
What sets ‘Frontier Drops’ apart is Prospex’s use of generative AI to challenge conventional norms of strength and masculinity on the frontier. Through diverse and queer subjects, he invites viewers to reconsider their perceptions of this iconic era.
Driven by a fascination with the perceived friction between A.I. and traditional crafts, Prospex aims to bridge the gap between techniques often seen as conflicting ends of the creative spectrum. ‘Frontier Drops’ is a creative dialogue between machine learning and human craftsmanship, pushing technological boundaries while honoring traditional artistry. In collaboration with a group of talented artists and textile designers, the exhibition features handcrafted crochet, beaded and quilted garments inspired by Prospex’s imagery.
For his inaugural public appearance, he will don bespoke masked cowboy outfits, embodying the mystery and anonymity characteristic of his masked creations. During the event, Prospex will be signing books and prints, adding a personal touch to the immersive experience.
The exhibition will take place from 2pm to 8pm on Saturday, June 8th, at 3100 Gallery W Sunset Blvd in Silverlake. In addition to the captivating artwork on display, attendees can expect exclusive art prints, bespoke costume pieces, and beverages by Three Spirit Drinks.
‘Frontier Drops’ marks Prospex’s debut solo show, following group exhibitions in London and Tokyo, BRIFW with Vogue Brazil and features in publications such as the New York Times, i-D, Ad Age, and Japanese national news NTV.
