Level Ground’s 2023 Syllabus Project Discussion, “Our Future Worlds,” is set to explore the forces of creativity driving our 2023-24 Residency Artists: Kyla Carter, Gemma Jimenez Gonzalez, Aya Umoh and Davia Spain. As part of our commitment to build a stronger, more cohesive Level Ground community, the Syllabus Project aims to foster a shared language and raise our community’s collective consciousness.
Our Residents have curated each syllabus with care, joy, and the goal of guiding audiences through images and imaginings of how we might shape the future through liberatory access to shared resources.
In a panel discussion led by Lead Artist Mentor Leslie Foster and Residency Alumni Bianca Nozaki-Nasser, our four artists will offer insight on their process and intentions within their work. Join them (and us) as we glimpse into the landscape of the future, re-examine the past, and empower each other in the present.
Please join us on Sunday, November 5th at 1pm to discuss, share, and learn with and from our resident artists. No preparation necessary to join this discussion event, but we do recommend watching, reading, and/or listening to at least 1 resource on each artist’s syllabus below (if you can!).
Thank you Chaos Kitchen for providing light food and Hornitos for complimentary cocktails! And a huge thanks to NAVEL for hosting us.
