Shoebox Projects presents What Remains, a solo exhibition by Los Angeles abstract oil painter Sharon Cannon. The exhibition brings together thirty-one intimate 12-by-12-inch oil paintings made exclusively in black, white, and gray. Built through layering, scraping, covering, and rediscovering, each painting preserves a record of decisions beneath its final surface. By removing color, Cannon turns attention toward structure, rhythm, weight, light, and space. What Remains asks what endures after change and invites viewers to look closely at the marks, interruptions, and histories that remain visible.
Opening reception: Sunday, November 15, 3:00–5:00 PM. The exhibition continues through December 5, with visits available by appointment after the opening.
