The Artists Gallery is pleased to present new visions of contemporary art from Karen Fiorito & Ernie Marjoram, on view September 11 through October 3, 2024.
The community and media are invited to celebrate these exhibitions at an honorary reception, happening Saturday, September 14, from 5:00PM to 8:00PM. Fiorito & Marjoram will be in attendance to meet guests, speak about their works and discuss their distinct styles. Guests can enjoy wine, engage in conversation and experience exceptional modern art. This reception is free to attend.
‘Sign Language,’ Karen Fiorito’s solo exhibition explores political environment through intricate replicas of public billboards, displayed alongside photographs of the actual billboards. The collection highlights Fiorito’s 20-year career as an artist and political activist. “Art and Activism are the two most important things in my life. Activism, including social, political, and environmental causes, permeates everything I do, from my roles as artist and curator, to every action in my daily life,” states Fiorito. “’Sign Language’ is a celebration of Artivism (Art + Activism), which creates ideas and engages the public in conversations and actions towards the greater good,” the artist explains.
Ernie Marjoram’s ‘My Italia’ exhibition is inspired by his travels through Italy. The collection presents the classic processes of renaissance painters through utilizing available, modern materials. “Living in Florence has been a major influence on my art. Influenced by master renaissance artists, I strive to achieve a high degree of realism and craftsmanship in my works,” proclaims Marjoram. “Technical achievement is not my final goal. Just as the experiments of renaissance painters redefined western art, I believe that 21st century artists should explore new subjects, materials, tools and technologies. Imagine what Leonardo would have done with a laptop,” the artist elaborates.
Art enthusiasts seeking additional insight about these exhibitions are invited to TAG’s monthly artist discussion, happening September 22, 2:00 PM-3:00 PM. Art talks at TAG present guests with exclusive walkthroughs of the gallery, led by TAG artists and gallery staff. These events are always free to attend.
The Art of Music, TAG’s latest group exhibition, will additionally be on view through October 3. This exhibition will visually explore music through diverse creative interpretation. Group exhibitions allow TAG members to present individual takes on chosen themes. Mediums such as photography, painting, digital art, sculpture and mixed media works will be included in the showcase.
