Annenberg Space for Photography is extending the run of it’s National Geographic Photo Ark exhibit due to popular demand. Photo Ark has been one of the Space’s most popular exhibits over the past 10 years and is being extended from Wednesday, January 16th through Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday January 21st. As always, the exhibit is free to the public. This exhibit features a collection of stunning portraits of animals to highlight the diversity of species living in captivity and encourage conservation efforts before it’s too late. The National Geographic Photo Ark is a multiyear project led by photographer Joel Sartore, whose life mission is to photograph every species living in the world’s zoos and wildlife sanctuaries. He has visited over 40 countries, creating an archive of global diversity that includes portraits of more than 8,000 species. From the familiar to the exotic, Annenberg Space for Photography’s presentation of the Photo Ark features nearly 100 captivating, large-format prints of the world’s animals bringing visitors eye-to-eye with endangered wildlife, inspiring them to save species at risk.
