Mugello Gallery has announced it’s lineup for a special summer group exhibition. The show will feature artwork from four LA based artists who’ve been instrumental in the establishment and growth of the Gallery since its founding in 2014.

Join us Saturday August 12th as we unveil all-new works from some of LA’s rising stars. Those who miss the opening will have until September 30th to catch the show.

Participating Artists:

Brent Estabrook — www.brentestabrook.com
Born July 11th, 1985; Brent Estabrook grew up in Seattle, Washington and received a BA in Fine Arts from the University of Arizona and Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Louisville before abandoning the degree to pursue his passion for art.
As a sort of old master reborn, Estabrook’s work reinvigorates our love for fine oil paintings in an era that has been overrun by digital shortcuts and copyright image appropriation. His unrelenting focus on the detail and placement of each brushstroke has lead him to invent his own science of painting (color mixing, selection, and composition) which captivates audiences of all ages and walks of life.
Brent pays ode to the struggle and evolution he has experienced as a human, and artist. He hopes that this story, told through his works of art and his juxtaposition of playful stuffed animals and skulls will inspire others to negate the small road blocks and pursue a life of excitement and passion.
The group show will feature three new skull works that display Estabrook’s meticulous painting technique of vibrant colors and controlled brushwork.

Matthew Ryan Herget — www.mrherget.com
Born December 21st, 1990; Matthew Ryan Herget is an emerging self-taught artist from Miami, FL. After attending University for two years, Herget opted to leave formal education to pursue his personal calling in life; to live as a contemporary explorer and tell the stories through his art.
The evolution of his work mimics the evolution of his own self – a student of life, the mind, nature, and spirituality; Herget continues to explore anew without losing the childlike confidence that propelled him to the person he is today. His paintings jump in and out of the boundaries of form and abstraction. “Each piece is a journey in-and-of itself. I’m constantly trying to take it somewhere that I haven’t been before. We all have a space suit on; whether it sits in the closet or goes to the moon is up to us – life is a constant mission of finding ourselves.” -MRH
The Group show will feature three new astronaut works that re-introduce Herget’s orange+white color palette from 2015 with his more recent use of an increasingly abstracted figure.

Nicholas Hunt — www.nehstudio.com
Born February 4th, 1985 in Newport Beach, California. Nicholas Hunt grew up surrounded by business minded entrepreneurs and Southern California art icons. These experiences in business, art, California culture, and the unmistakable beauty and variety of Southern California landscapes have been instrumental in developing his visual acuity.
Nicholas received a BA in Art History from Pepperdine University, and an MA in Art Business from Sotheby’s Art Institute in New York to begin a career as an art dealer before committing fully to his own artistic creations.

The group show will feature 30 all new ‘Caliber Abstraction’ works presented as a single piece but available for individual acquisition. This visceral series continues to draw attention for it’s use of guns. “Even though the process of creation is quite destructive, the outcome results in the creation of something strong, beautiful, uplifting and positive.” -NEH

James Law — www.jameslawphotography.com

He Started shooting in 2006 motivated by Ryan Nixon, friend and photojournalist Samuel Hodgeson and creative Felix Winqvist from Sweden. MUGELLO GALLERY represents emerging and mid-career artists. Having launched in 2014 with a digital first strategy, the internet allowed them to quickly grow their gallery and artists by serving an international client base. After three years exhibiting at international fairs, and selling work from their artist’ studios, they’ve opened a permanent space on Gallery Row in the heart of downtown.

The new LA space is the first of what will be a national expansion for Mugello. “We believe strongly in our artists, our tastes, and the growing interest our generation is showing towards art and creativity. We’ve been very thoughtful in our model – our site selection and low overhead allows us to reinvest heavily in our artists studios so they can continue producing new and exciting work.”
