New York, NY – Space 776 is pleased to present a second solo exhibition of new works by Brooklyn-based Japanese artist Mitsuyo Okada.
Okada’s work explores the “atmosphere of nature”—the sensation of a soft breeze, blinding daylight, or the succulent smell of Spring. Rather than focusing on the form and anatomy of plants, Okada’s work emphasizes tacit emotional responses to specific environments. Whether delicate, enchanting, or poignant, they conjure a distinct nostalgia in viewers for the sensorial experience of nature.
