Curated by Guy Dill and featuring the works of Marinella Paolini, Crossing the Limits is the photographic narration of an artistic journey into miles traveled through roads and cities all over the world – featuring select works from three of Paolini’s projects: Urban Soul, Pathways and On the Way.
Forging new roads beyond traditional photographic processes, FusionArt is a new avant-garde form of expression on the contemporary art scene. The creative process and its subsequent testing was founded in 2010 in Rome in the laboratory of FormedarteItalia by the creative director Patrizia Biba Mogherini and the photographer Marinella Paolini.
FusionArt is the merging of photography with another work of art. It is a collaboration between two artists, a photographer and another artist using traditional techniques (painting, scultpure, printmaking, mixed media). The most advanced methods of digital printing are used as a final step in completing the work. This process can only be used once and cannot be used to make a series. A unique work of art is created consecrating the photography as an authentic, unique art piece rather than the possibility of multiples of the same image.
Photography is the a means of expression; the photographer invades the space of another artist. The photographer creates the image and the provocation.
The image is saved digitally. This is the mother work. The second artist works with this image abiding by strict rules established by the photographer. The last step is taken when the photographic image and the other artwork are digitally synthesized. In the FusionArt created, the photograph inexorably invades the artwork and a metamorphosis occurs that turns the vision into a new truth, a unique work of art.
