The panel will be moderated by Juri Koll, Director of Venice Institute of Contemporary Art (ViCA), who also curated the exhibition.. “Los Angeles Now & Then” focuses on the unique, venerable, boundary-busting history and art of Los Angeles over the past 90 years. It is part of ViCA’s ongoing programming that chronicles the history and practice of art in Southern California. The exhibition opened with a reception at Beyond Baroque/Mike Kelley Gallery on Saturday, January 14, 2023.

ViCA’s vision is that Los Angeles, and Southern California in general, has and will continue to provide a legacy to the art world that – in terms of art history – we are only just beginning to understand and appreciate. Working across diverse media, the artists featured in “Los Angeles Now & Then” are: Airom, MB Boissonnault, Bob Branaman, Mx Farina, Michael Grecco, Ellen Grobman, Curtis Gutierrez, Gloriane Harris, Juri Koll, Barbara Kolo, Lawrie Margrave, Gay Summer Rick, Catherine Ruane, Michael Stearns, Sonja Schenk, May Sun, William Turtle, Edmund Teske, and Elizabeth Waterman.
