Justine Serebrin presents The Sacred Sea, an exhibition and auction of her latest body of work, which focuses on transcendent, vibrant images of the wonders of the ocean. The core of her collection is ten, immersive “towers of magic” that offer a beautiful and thought-provoking window into another part of both the physical and spiritual world. The exhibition will be accompanied by custom oceanic designs available to be tattooed by the artists of Serebrin’s tattoo parlor Earth Altar Studio. Body piercings will also be available.

100% of the proceeds from the art exhibition and body adornment will be donated to benefit Mission Blue, a research organization dedicated to saving and exploring the world’s oceans.

Serebrin begins her work by meditating, visualizing, and creating the essence of the energetic, immersive images she wishes to shape. She describes her paintings as being expressions of a greater feeling outside oneself, and a desire to be fully expressed as a human being. The artist calls her process one that begins in her heart and is then “pushed out through my arms with paint, color, shape, and form.”

Combining spray-painted sacred geometric symbols with textured, water-based oil landscapes, her light-filled, deep work is highly emotional, layered and lovely. With the geometric symbols serving as a kind of portal, viewers are invited into an alternate, consciousness-expanding reality. Her rich palette meshes with the dynamic patterns in these works; the large-scale images are filled with a visual energy that intimately connects with viewers.

The artist looks at her powerful images as expressing an inward connection between viewer and artist, one that leads toward locating a profound inner reality, or the desire of one’s soul. It’s an expression of a reality that the artist hopes will be transformative not just personally, but collectively, in the form of caring for, establishing, and maintaining a healthy ocean and healthy planet for generations to come.

Serebrin’s collection is now available for viewing at www.justineserebrin.com

Final bids will be collected at the end of the evening on the 30th. All tattoo designs are available for a minimum contribution of $50; the minimum contribution for piercing will be related to each piercing type and range between $50 and $80 including jewelry.
