The Earl Gallery is proud to present In the Presence Of, a group exhibition that gathers eleven contemporary artists in a shared exploration of the delicate threshold between seeing and feeling. Through painting, sculpture, and mixed media, the exhibition invites viewers to step into the charged stillness where perception becomes experience — where attention itself becomes an act of art.
Featuring works by Neal Spector, Sean Hemeon, Doug Hurley, Casey Kringlen, David Phelps, Charles Baker Strahan, Lucie Olivia, Sean Whaling, Ross Wyngaarden, Ian Huang, and Jolene Hemeon, the show forms a meditative dialogue on the intimacy of observation and the reverence of presence. Each artist brings a distinct visual language — from visceral abstraction to contemplative figuration — yet together they converge in a quiet symphony of attention, texture, and emotional resonance.
“In a world saturated with noise and acceleration, these works insist on pause,” notes the curatorial statement. “They remind us that the space between sight and sensation is alive — that what we perceive is not fixed, but continually unfolding.”
In the Presence Of opens with a public reception on Saturday, November 22 from 6–9 PM, offering an opportunity to meet the artists and experience the work firsthand. The exhibition continues Sunday, November 23 from 10 AM–3 PM. Admission is free and open to the public.
