Artist Hank Willis Thomas and Bomani Jones discuss race and the appropriation of the black body in art, sports, and advertising for The Phillips Collection online talk series. Hank Willis Thomas is a conceptual artist working primarily with themes related to perspective, identity, commodity, media, and popular culture. For over 15 years, Bomani Jones has written on sports, music, culture, and politics for a variety of online and print publications.

Hank Willis Thomas’s work is currently on view in Riffs and Relations: African American Artists and the European Modernist Tradition through Jan 3, 2021 at The Phillips Collection.
