Visual artist Betsy Lohrer Hall offers meditative experiences focused on sound receptivity and senses of place. This is an invitation to temporarily set aside our usual activities—to deliberately slow down and focus on the present moment: the physical body, in real time; the direct perception of sound and nature.
We will pay close attention to ambient and found sounds and how we receive them. Participants may be surprised to discover where they experience sound in their bodies and how their minds engage with and wander away from the present moment. The activities introduced and practiced here can be used by participants, going forward, as resources in support of health and well-being.
