Simard Bilodeau Contemporary is pleased to present Heads Full of Poetry, a group exhibition co-curated by Swedish artist Emma Larsson (@zebrakadebra).
Emma Larsson finds inspiration from the last Avant-Garde art movement of the 20th Century called CoBrA. The concepts of freedom, “creation before theory” and spontaneity drive Emma in her own creation. Within that approach, she finds resonance with the artists that she follows and chose for this group exhibition.
The selected artists are emerging, from the USA, Canada, France, Belgium, Germany, Sweden and UK. The collection includes sculptures, paintings on canvas and works on paper. They have in common a sense of playfulness and poetry.
Led by their subconscious the artists were invited to surrender to the making of art as an experiment without convention nor thought processing. Heads Full of Poetry is a series of artworks by Emma Larsson, Heather Chontos, Andrej Glusgold, Maria Lundström, Michael Nauert, Vince Palacios, Tyler Keeton Robbins, Elizabeth Shull, Mientje Smeyers, Linda J Wallis.
Opening Saturday July 24th, 4PM – 8PM
On view until September 8th.
