Announcing the launch of Gold Series : a new dance performance series curated around the theme of “gold.” Gold Series No. 1, featuring original works by dance artists Madison Clark, Sarah Leddy, Carol McDowell, Daniel Miramontes, Alexx Shilling, and Lailye Weidman, will take place at ARC in Pasadena on Friday, November 2 and Saturday, November 3 at 8:30pm. The evening is comprised of five distinct works: honor roll (Clark and Miramontes), Be Cool (Shilling with McDowell), You Buck, I Plod (Leddy and Shilling), Showman (Weidman), and will it be a slow dance today? (Miramontes). Gold emerges choreographically through the celebration of iconic gestures, adornments that shimmer, commemorations of embodied histories, displays of bold confidence, and the elevation of everyday aspects of moving—making them shine.
