Join us for a participatory exhibition tour that allows for ‘slow looking’ and a moment to record audio reflections of sensory experiences.
On the occasion of The 2023 Big Draw Festival, the world’s biggest celebration of drawing, join us in Downtown Los Angeles for a participatory exhibition tour of ‘Harmony Korine. AGGRESSIVE DR1FTER.’ This tour will allow participants to ‘slow look’ – the act of giving yourself time to create deeper connections with artworks. As part of the ‘slow look’ activity, participants will be encouraged to record audio reflections of sensory experiences, memories and reactions.
Throughout the month of October, Hauser & Wirth’s worldwide locations will celebrate The Big Draw Festival’s 2023 theme ‘Drawing with Senses’ by capturing audio recordings of sensory experiences to artworks as an alternative to traditional drawing methods. The recordings will be compiled into an ‘audio drawing’ that will take the shape as a digital map connecting the verbal responses from all the gallery activations across the globe.
The 2023 Big Draw Festival is a collection of thousands of international creative events, activities, and workshops run by organizations big and small; from individuals to entire cities. ‘Drawing with Senses’ is about choosing to experience art through your senses; the ones you are familiar with, and the ones may be less so. This conceptual theme seeks to reveal the universal language of drawing as a tool for learning, expression, and invention.
Join us to contribute and participate in the Los Angeles activation of this year’s ‘Drawing with your Senses.’
This event is free, however, please reserve tickets for each member of your group to secure a spot.
Participants will be asked to audio record their experiences.
