Investigation: Water, Seeds, and Soil, by visiting artist and scholar Yrneh Gabon combines studio practice, scholarly inquiry, student participation, and community engagement. The project will examine the essential relationship between human survival and the natural systems that sustain us. It will open with selected works from Gabon’s existing artistic practice on the subject, establishing the conceptual and visual foundation for the investigation. For the duration of the show the gallery space will function simultaneously as an exhibition space, working studio, classroom, and public laboratory.

At a time increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence, bioengineered food, and automation, Water, Seeds, and Soil is both an artistic investigation and a call to action. The project considers urgent environmental and social questions affecting communities locally and globally. As robots, autonomous vehicles, cashier-less stores, and artificial intelligence become part of everyday life, this project reminds us that technology cannot replace our responsibility to the earth or to one another. It invites participants to imagine a future in which progress does not cost us our humanity and in which knowledge, care, and hope are cultivated for generations to come.
