HOMME Gallery Presents: ‘Strangers in Paradise’ – A Captivating Exploration of Edwin Bolta’s Artistic Vision
[D.C., June 3rd] – HOMME Gallery, a leading space for contemporary art, is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated solo exhibition of Edwin Bolta titled ‘Strangers in Paradise,’ opening to the public on June 3rd, at 6pm, and running until June 15th. Bolta, a 1st generation American of Puerto Rican and German descent, lives in Brooklyn, New York and fuses the dynamic of these cultural influences in his work. He explores themes such as interpersonal relationships, the intricate complexities of the human condition and its impact on mental health.
Bolta’s work represents a breathtaking mix of artistic mediums. Combining elements of Folk and Pop art, coining the style name ‘FUTURE FOLK ART’ he pushes the boundaries of creativity, seamlessly blending traditional and contemporary techniques to construct a visually striking narrative. The exhibition features a variety of mediums, including paintings on canvas, computer-generated animation, stop-motion animation, ceramic sculptures,
and utilizes found objects.
‘Strangers in Paradise’ invites visitors to immerse themselves in a thought-provoking journey where the universality of human experiences converges with the artist’s unique vision. Each artwork becomes a vessel, illuminating the intricacies of the human psyche and offering solace to those grappling with their mental health. Fusing captivating visuals and poignant storytelling, Bolta encourages viewers to reflect on the importance of building sustainable relationships, fostering resilience and embracing the transformative power of art.
The opening event will feature music by AV, refreshments and guests will have the opportunity to purchase exclusive merchandise related to the artwork. “We are excited to offer a limited-edition selection of merchandise inspired by Edwin Bolta’s artwork,” says Amir, Gallery Owner/Director. “The prints and T-shirts capture the essence of his artistic vision and allow art enthusiasts to engage with his work in a more inclusive and tangible way.”
