Jagerhaus is pleased to present Dragons, an exhibition of new works by
Los Angeles–based storm photographer Jeffrey Boxer.
For over a decade, Boxer has roamed 15 states in pursuit of nature’s most
dramatic performances. From thunderheads curling like scales to lightning that
lashes across the sky, his camera captures the raw power and beauty of storms.
An average thundercloud can weigh over a million pounds; a single lightning bolt
burns hotter than the surface of the sun. For Boxer, these fierce displays become
creatures of the imagination—skyborne phenomena that appear and vanish in an
instant.
With his camera aimed just above the horizon line, before landfall can disrupt the
built environment, Boxer’s exhibition captures the animated wonder, mystery, and power of the skies’ tumult.
Guests can enjoy cocktails and a live DJ spinning on opening night.
