TAG, The Artists Gallery, invites the public to explore the diversity of LA art at the curatorial walkthroughs of LA Open and Small Things on Saturday, Jan. 27th, beginning at 3 PM. The gallery is located at 5458 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90036
This month, TAG, The Artists Gallery proudly features two outstanding curated exhibitions. In the main floor gallery, TAG presents L.A. Open, a juried exhibition highlighting exceptional artistic talent from throughout Los Angeles County. Juried by esteemed artist, curator, and educator Kristine Schomaker, the showcase features 78 artworks from 62 artists. The selection was juried from more than 600 received submissions. The second group show, Small Things, takes place in the upper-level SKY Gallery at TAG. This showcase, juried by Eric Renard & Kenneth Rooney, is a collaboration with the California Art League. Selected artworks highlight the small, precise details that are often overlooked. Ornate brushstrokes, shadow, highlight, texture, color, and composition are emphasized elements throughout the exhibition.
Guests at this event will walk both exhibitions with the respective curators, learning about their process in selecting artworks, their vision, challenges, and reasoning behind their decisions. Selected artists from both exhibitions will also speak about their work, inspirations, and artistic journeys. All work is on view through Feb.2, 2024.
