The artists presented in Conjurations are adventurers of the mind, reaching beyond the limitations of what exists and into the realms of what can be imagined, discovered, and generated anew. Through colors that suggest specific landscapes or moods, through shapes that recall known images, through lines that hint at written languages, through patterns that suggest natural forms, through motifs of musicality or synaesthesia, the pursuit of abstraction in the 21st century serves as a personal de-programming tool to be deployed as an antidote to the rhetorical traps, psychic poisons and existential challenges of our time.
