It’s the final two days to see Safi Alia Shabaik’s extraordinary exhibition “PERSONALITY CRASH: Portraits of My Father Who Suffered from Advanced Stages of Parkinson’s Disease, Dementia, and Sundowners Syndrome” at Open Mind Art Space. Today March 3, the gallery will be open 12p-7p. Closing day, Sat. March 4, the hours are 11a-7p, refreshments will be served that day.

In addition to the photos, there is an audio narration, voiced by Safi, to guide you through the show.

Thank you to The Argonaut for this story on “Personality Crash.” In it, Safi says, “How I relate to the world is through my camera, so, it was natural for me to ask him if we could do this together. He was really amenable to that. Through the years that we documented it, my father was an active participant to his very last day. There were times when he told me to go get my camera when I wouldn’t have it on me. It’s important that people understand that he was not only the subject, but was also a collaborator.”

The exhibition is presented in partnership with the Parkinson’s Foundation, and funded in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
