CLAYDD & Craft Contemporary are thrilled to announce CLAYDD @ CRAFT, CLAYDD Collective’s annual fundraiser at Craft Contemporary Museum taking place on December 8, 2023. For this year’s edition, the event will feature icons like Drag Queen Valentina, an installation of craft-core artwork with more than 40 artists, raffles, and a live performance by Clay.
Aside from Valentina, the event will be hosted by local community members such as Princess Gollum, Marcel Alcalá, Melahn Frierson, Maya Fuhr, Sabeerah Najee, and Arlissa.
CLAYDD @ CRAFT will be a site-specific intervention in Craft Contemporary’s enchanting outdoor courtyard, showcasing diverse craft-oriented works, including ceramics, fabrics, glass, wood, and drawings.
Among the highlights of CLAYDD @ CRAFT is a week-long silent auction, which will commence online on December 1, 2023, at 5 pm PST and end on December 5, 2023, at midnight PST. The auction link is accessible via CLAYDD’s Instagram: @clayddcollective.
All artwork not acquired at the auction will be raffled off in the high-energy, not-to-be-missed event on December 8. This creates a unique opportunity for guests interested in artwork from various emerging to mid-career artists in Los Angeles and beyond. Raffle tickets will only be $5 each, promoting an inclusive environment and unique opportunity for new collectors alike.
Artists such as Jennifer Rochlin, Vincent Pocsik, Laura Soto, Josh Cloud, and Sofie Ramos are among the event’s contributors. The generosity of these artists will bring 100% of the proceeds from the donated works to directly support CLAYDD’s programming focused on art, healing, and education for youth facing mental health struggles and special needs and in foster care.
In the spirit of community, the event will also feature clay sculptures created by students who participated in CLAYDD workshops this year, including the students of Pasadena High School and Lydia Jackson Elementary School, aiming to create a space where art transcends boundaries and showcases the incredible diversity of craft in Los Angeles.
Date: 12/8/23
Time: 7–10 pm
