bG Gallery After Hours welcomes all to our 1st annual AAPI Heritage Month event! We bring forth a celebration of cultures and traditions embracing the power of diversity through art and music. Let us embark on this journey bridging cultures with the universal language of art. Through art and music we can melt down tired stereotypes, foster understanding and uplift one another. Let us acknowledge the tribulations we have faced while focusing on celebrating the present and advancing the future for generations to come.
The AAPI experience is a melting pot of cultural diversity that binds itself together. It includes nearly fifty ethnic groups from East and Southeast Asia, the Indian subcontinent and the Pacific Islands and their diasporas. Asia, the largest continent in the world, consists of over 4 billion people and the Pacific Island member countries have a combined population of about 2.5 million people. The vast and multifaceted groups have continuously changed and shifted to accommodate and respect various identities.
