Gagosian Beverly Hills proudly presents Nights of Cabiria, a new sculpture series by Carol Bove opening September 25, 2025. The exhibition transforms the gallery’s unique architecture by turning reclaimed structural scaffolding—”soldier beams” originally intended for civil engineering—into playful sculptural follies and pedestals.

Bove’s latest works directly engage with Los Angeles’ Cold War-era industrial heritage, drawing inspiration from the city’s aerospace manufacturing and subcultural expressions like precision surfboard production. The sculptures blend raw, weathered surfaces with mirror-polished elements, as seen in Parallel Friction (2025), where crumpled steel tubing painted vibrant orange sits atop weathered girders.

This marks Bove’s first full Beverly Hills exhibition, following her rooftop installation Mary earlier this year. By incorporating reclaimed materials into both the exhibition design and the artworks themselves, Bove challenges assumptions about materials while creating a dialogue between LA’s industrial past and contemporary artistic expression.
