Eileen McCullough is recognized for the vibrant, fluid watercolor painting style that she uses to capture the sensation of California beach cities. In this class, she will illustrate the importance of planning your painting and knowing your subject before you even pick up the brush. Eileen will also share how she is able to get her brush to do all the work by utilizing minimal brushstrokes to create people, palm trees, signage, and street lamps.

Supply List:

Paper: 140lb. cold press Arches watercolor paper, sketch paper (white bond paper or a heavy weight sketchbook), practice paper (Student grade watercolor paper like Strathmore).

Paints: Payne?s Grey, Blues (Ultra Marine, Cobalt, Cerulean), Reds (Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Red, Rose), Yellows (Cadmium Yellow, Aureolin), Other (Violet, Browns, Ochre).

Brushes: Large one inch, medium half inch and a variety of small round/flat brushes.

Pencils: #2 graphite, water soluble graphite pencils in variety of densities (#2,#4,#6 or #8).

Other Materials: Drawing board, water container(s), paper towels, palette, and an old kitchen towel.

Notes:
Please note that this workshop has a required supply list. A short lunch break will be taken during the class. wearing layers is recommended as the classroom tends to get a bit cool.
