Los Angeles-based fine art photographer Elizabeth Waterman has a new book, Candyland, to be released September 30 by London-based Unicorn Publishing Group. Candyland features 24 female adult film stars including Stormy Daniels – who also wrote the book’s foreword – and Kenzie Reeves, who is on the cover, also wrote a piece about her experience at the book’s end. The images were captured mostly outside in Los Angeles during the pandemic. It follows up Waterman’s acclaimed portfolio and now sold-out book Moneygame, featuring strippers in nightclubs across the country. Her shooting veered out of the strip clubs during Covid, as she began staging shoots in her home and backyard in Santa Monica. She invited adult stars to pose for her, starting with those she had met in the clubs, and moving onto others via Instagram.
On September 28 there will be an artist talk and book signing at ARTBOOK@ Hauser & Wirth in the arts district in downtown Los Angeles. Waterman will be in conversation with Candyland’s editor Michael Grecco, and Juri Koll, founder and director of Venice Institute of Contemporary Art. The event starts at 3PM, is free and open to the public. The talk will also be livestreamed on Instagram at @artbookhwla. People can RSVP and order a signed copy at artbookstores.com.
