Time: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Location: Bar Pendry at Pendry West Hollywood, 8430 Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90069
On Thursday, June 26, 2025, Bar Pendry in Pendry West Hollywood will host a reception exhibiting new works by rising Canadian artist Julia Brevetti as part of the hotel’s ongoing Artist in Residence series. The event will take place from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with Brevetti in attendance. Her work will be showcased by Enable Gallery, giving an exclusive first look at pieces from her “Skull Collection,” a vibrant yet introspective body of work exploring mortality, memory and the symbolism of life and death.
Brevetti, a Toronto-based painter, has seen a meteoric rise in the past year thanks to her viral presence on TikTok and Instagram, where she blends pop art, realism and modern contemporary styles into bold and emotionally resonant pieces. Her newest series, “Skull Collection,” is her most personal yet.
The Pendry West Hollywood event will showcase 10–12 original works, each painted in the same primary and secondary hues that shaped Brevetti’s earliest creative experiences. By using these simple and vibrant colors, first explored in childhood art classes, she brings a sense of innocence and familiarity to a collection that explores the complex themes of mortality and the passage of time. The series approaches these ideas not with heaviness, but with bold color and playful composition, using the skull as a symbol stripped of ego or identity.
Since going viral in late 2024, Brevetti has grown her social following to over 100K followers in just a few months, gaining international collectors and securing placements in galleries such as Zany Studios at the Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village in California, Rainy Days Gallery in Denver and is now represented by Enable Gallery in Los Angeles. Her work has also recently been commissioned in Toronto by hospitality location Queen’s Harbour and featured in live painting activations for Cry Baby Gallery and STACKTV to celebrate the Season 8 premiere of Rick and Morty. Additionally in 2025, Brevetti was a guest speaker at Toronto’s Departure festival for a panel discussion on leveraging digital spaces to amplify creative careers.
