California Lawyers for the Arts (CLA) is excited to announce the honorees of the 10th Annual Artistic License Awards will be Annette Bening, Congressman Ted Lieu, Self Help Graphics & Art, and E. Randol Schoenberg. Celebrating 30 years of service in the Los Angeles arts community, the Awards recognize community arts champions who have had an extraordinary impact on Californian communities to inspire and foster the state’s culture.

Alma Robinson, Executive Director of CLA, describes an Award recipient as, “Honorees are leaders whose acts of generosity and examples of innovation have inspired so many others to stretch beyond their “comfort zones” and take on the challenges of our times.” Californian culture is bound by the merits of Artistic License by cultivating the participation within your environment and surroundings to create a personal and collective expression that is unique and a service to those a part of the inspiration.

Each of the honorees embody Artistic License and have injected an incredible jolt into Californian culture as a whole through their arts endeavors and support. Annette Bening provides service on the California Arts Council and displays principled leadership on behalf of arts education. The lens on Chicano and Latino artists has been magnified since 1973 by Self Help Graphics & Art, who are non-profit leaders in the arts. Congressman Ted Lieu leads support for the arts as a member of the Congressional Arts Caucus as well as a US Congressman and within the State Senate. Artworks were legally reclaimed from the disparate dissemination of the Nazi regime by attorney E. Randol Schoenberg, who is a supporter of the arts community.

Confirmed sponsorships by May 8, 2017 will be recognized in the event’s printed program and include ceremony tickets. Top-tier sponsorship levels include Galaxy for $20,000+ with twenty tickets, Grand Vision for $10,000 to $19,000 with twelve tickets, and New Horizon for $5,000 to $9,000 with eight tickets.
