About the Artists & Exhibitions:

PHUNG HUYNH

In Bite the Hand that Feeds You, multidisciplinary artist and educator Phung Huynh presents new drawings, paintings, and sculptural installations centered on pink donut boxes—an iconic yet often overlooked artifact of Cambodian refugee labor in California and across the United States. Working across personal, familial, and communal narratives, the series playfully reconstitutes pink as a powerful symbol and an homage to immigrant experience and resilience. JUNE EDMONDS

June Edmonds: Inheritance expands her iconic Flag series to reimagine the American flag as a mutable symbol whose promises of freedom and belonging remain unevenly realized. While earlier iterations honored individual figures and events in Black American history, these new paintings respond to broader systemic injustices impacting American citizens and immigrants. SHERIN GUIRGUIS

Sherin Guirguis: Into the Lake of Fire // ⲉ̀ϧⲟⲩⲛ ⲉ̀ϯⲗⲩⲙⲛⲏ ⲛ̀ⲭ̀ⲣⲱⲙ presents a unique series of monoprints by the Egyptian American multidisciplinary artist that vibrantly revive Indigenous Egyptian language and honors ancestral African roots. Guirguis’ color palette draws from historic Egyptian pigments, with water patterns referencing the life of the Nile flowing over the forms of a glyph poem, coalescing contemporary and historical abstraction.
