WEST HOLLYWOOD – Join us November 6, 2022 from 3-6pm for an intimate conversation with contemporary artist and MASH Gallery founder Haleh Mashian, as she discusses her solo exhibition, MASH Muse. During this discussion, Mashian will explore her work, process, and how it inspires her story to pursue creativity and freedom, establishing her unique voice as a woman and creative force.
Her transformational journey is one similar to many women who lived, and are still living under the oppression and intense scrutiny of Iranian government who yearn to express themselves without fear.
Says Haleh: “Self expression, creativity and freedom is the essence of any fulfilling life and it’s a god-given right, that is why I donate a portion of all my sales to those leading the fight for these basic freedoms.”
Adding a bit of levity to the event, the conversation will be moderated by comedian Jason Thompson, portraying the role of British super spy, Austin Powers.
In a recent article, Gary Brewer of Art & Cake, said this of Mashian’s work:
“Monahissa is a portrait of a woman: she exudes a powerful presence emerging from a rich surface made of faux snakeskin on a wooden panel. The face of Monahissa has a strong defiant look. Her figure is painted in a loose painterly approach; the brushstrokes and the small pieces of faux snakeskin blend together. Her arms look like red fiery wings, as though she is a goddess.”
It is an image of female power, an archetype in a world where women are too often not allowed to express their full potential.”
Located in the La Cienega Design Quarter, MASH Gallery is a contemporary art gallery curated for both collectors and interior designers.
