The Pointillist, Maurizio Battifora, is inspired by the exaggerated motion, drama, and tension in baroque and renaissance art, but he brings his own contemporary point of view and meaning, to each of his paintings. His work explores themes of life, dreams, luxury and death, and sometimes iconic figures from the past, intermingling with the present in his exquisite style.
This solo exhibition encompasses works from the Los Angeles artist’s recent series of figurative, pointillist paintings titled “M.A.”. Battifora presents the iconic queen of excess in these beautiful & whimsical, one-of-a-kind paintings.
