Elsewhere Editions, an imprint of a non-profit press Archipelago Books based in Brooklyn, New York, grew out of a belief that children deserve not only to recognize themselves and their own experiences in the stories they read but also to imagine different ways of seeing and living. Beyond beautiful picture books from around the world, we hope these books will encourage young readers to think about and ask questions about the world around them.

This art auction will provide funding to continue building a list of translated and international books which show faith in children as enthusiastic, sensitive, and serious readers.

Featuring over 30 emerging and established artists will be participating—including Mitch Epstein; Michelle Stuart; Cecilia Vicuña; Carmen Winant; Liana Finck; Erica Baum; Kandis Williams; the estate of Betty Woodman; Aidan Alexis Koch; York Chang; Jia Sung; Jen Mazza; Alex Jackson; Greg Burak; Cassi Namoda; among others.

Online bidding will be available starting Monday, June 8th at 10:00am EST until Monday, June 22nd at 10:00pm EST on our website https://archipelagobooks.org/auction-for-elsewhere/
